Air India Extends Saudi Arabia Flight Suspensions Until November 14 Amid Rising Tensions

Air India and Air India Express have extended their flight suspensions to several Saudi Arabian destinations until November 14, 2026, amid continuing security concerns in the region.

The airlines have suspended services to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam as the evolving geopolitical situation continues to affect aviation operations across West Asia.

The decision follows a series of flight disruptions involving Indian carriers operating to Saudi Arabia. Other airlines, including IndiGo and Akasa Air, have also adjusted their services to selected destinations in the region.

For passengers, the extended suspensions mean additional uncertainty for business trips, religious travel and international connections.

Affected customers have been offered options including rebooking and refunds, according to the airline announcements.

The situation is particularly challenging for airlines because West Asia is an important international market for Indian carriers. Disruptions can affect aircraft utilisation, route planning, passenger connections and overall revenue.

Airlines must continuously evaluate airspace conditions, airport security developments and operational risks before restoring services.

The extension highlights the growing influence of geopolitical instability on international airline networks and passenger connectivity.
